North Korea blames loss to U.S. on players getting struck by lightning - Is this entire country ridiculous? After the men's World Cup last summer, the government made the players endure a public humiliation session and sent the coach to work on a labor project.

Pretty neat to watch the Women's World Cup and see Charleston's Greg Banks serving as the athletic trainer for the event as the Colombian staff tended to injured goalkeeper Sepulveda.

Banks of Rehabilitation Centers of Charleston has worked with the SCHSSCA as athletic trainer for several North-South Soccer Classic and Clash of the Carolinas all-star events in the past. He is also present at many prep tournaments and games in the Lowcountry.

Great article in the Post-Courier featuring Banks.

before that happened, i couldn't understand why the goalie was allowed to wear orange with the teams red uniform, i couldn't tell the difference.
i like the announcer at the end, "well that will most likely be the final whistle for that ref at this world cup"

I said the same thing about the GK orange in comparison to the red uniforms. Made zero sense.
