Seniors Blair Monroe of North Myrtle Beach HS and Chelsea Terry of James Island have signed a National Letter of Intent with Coastal Carolina University. Coach Karrie Miller led the Chanticleers to a 7-11-2 mark this past fall and is 34-44-16 in five seasons at CCU.

In 15 matches a year ago for the Lady Chiefs, Monroe tallied 69 points with 33 goals and three assists for NMB, which finished 16-6 in 2004 and advanced to the Second Round of the Class 3A playoffs. NMB is coached by Tonya Merricks.

The Aiken Fire had a good day today. There were 6 total off of this year's U18 team and 2 more that played with the Aiken Fire as U17s. Additionally 2 more graduated after their U17 year so in affect 10 of the players that played on the U17 will play in college. Three of the other players are still juniors and will most definately play college soccer. Another player from the U17 team had a verbal committment to Furman but decided not to play.

Eric Baafour------Furman
Mike Gustavson----South Carolina
Jacob Hester------Georgia State
Parker Rogers-----Clemson
Stephen Rumble----Birmingham Southern
Rob Victor--------Kentucky

The two that graduated last year

John Odum played at Presbyterian College
Gavin Hamilton played at Oklahoma Christian

The two that played on the U17 team

Jordan Gilbert(Aiken Fire/ North Augusta)---Tulsa
Timmy Jones(Aiken Fire/Atlanta Light'ning)Stanford

Just a little more info: On the U15 team that went to the national championship there were two other players that have committed and will be signing soon.

William Batson-----Colgate
Markus Jackson-----Yale

As of today, i think 3 have signed and the others will sign soon. Good job to Justin Rhodes and the boys for putting in hard work for many years.

Casey Cash (CESA U18 Premier, Woodruff High School) signed with Erskine.

Other Spartanburg area signees from today's Spartanburg Herald:

Three area girls soccer players signed national letters of intent on Wednesday.

Dorman's Rachel Koenig, a two-time all-state defender, signed with Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Koenig has started for three seasons at Dorman, scoring 12 times. Last season, she led a defense that allowed just 25 goals in 24 matches.

Spartanburg's Lytle Cannon, last season's Herald-Journal Player of the Year, signed with Presbyterian College.

Cannon led the state in scoring (34 goals), while she assisted on 13 others. She will be a leader on the Lady Vikings' team, which was ranked No. 6 in the preseason.

Woodruff's Casey Cash, an all-state player last year, has signed with Erskine College.

Last year, Cash won the Region II-2A Player of the Year award after she scored 32 goals and assisted on 12 others.

CESA boys that have signed: Zach Husk (U18 Challenge) signed with Erskine, Mike Cotton (U18 Challenge) signed with Newberry, Tyler Davis (U18 Premier) signed with Lander. I'm sure there are more. We will probably be seeing a complete list of CESA signees (boys and girls) soon.

Brian Amey from Emerald High School signed with Erskine. I heard the coach there was rebuilding and starting from scratch with quality players. He allegedly signed 14 freshies. Good luck to him and his squad. He's got a great signee in Amey.
