Coach David Craig of Eastside HS e-mailed SCSoccer.com to inform us of his resignation as the Eagles' boys varsity coach.
Citing professional education reasons for his resignation, Craig leaves behind an EHS program that he guided to the 2005 Class 3A State Championship and a pair of Upper State Finals in 2004 and 2008. Since taking over the Eagles program in 2001, Craig amassed an overall record of 123-38-1 (.762) in eight seasons and has placed the storied Eastside program back amongst the state's best as EHS has finished in the Top 10 of the Massey Power Ratings each of the past five years, including an overall fifth-place rating this past spring.
Coach Craig has been a loyal member of the S.C. High School Soccer Coaches Association and his services and professionalism will be missed by the organization.
