1)Batesburg-Leesville
2)Walhalla
3)Emerald

Emerald lost the only two threats on their starting eleven...Joseph Taylor and Walter Nunez. Apart from these two players the Emerald side did not field any dangerous talent. Walhalla always reloads with talent, however, last year they didn't have help from any young players and they have lost alot of players of veteran experience. On the other hand, B-L competes with the top 2A teams year after year. They have the edge this year because they return every core field player from their starting lineup. They only lost an outside defender and their goalkeeper but they are adding a very talented striker to their side that was ineligible last year as a freshman.

I hate to tell you but Emerald played 1/2 the season with out Taylor and Nunez who were injured. They have a chance to be stronger this year then they ever have been. They have returning players such as Tommie, Riddle, Loggins, NoE,Lambert, and others who have already played in back to back state championships, All of those guys were nominated for all-state and made All confernce and the "all lakeland" team. They have 9 returning starters and 4 other guys who played alot. When you make it to the state for 4 years in a row then you can rate your self a head of Emerald . Until then you will have to beat Emerald before you ever get the chance.
In fact you lost last year to Walhalla and Emerald beat them in over time, just so you know sophmores : Riddle and Tommie scored those goals. So yes Emerald is losing two great players in Taylor & Nunez but Emerald will still be strong for years to come.
1.) Emerald
2.) WALHALLA
3.) Palmetto & Batesburg-leesville
