Alright... I know there was a thread about 2A soccer, but I couldn't find it. I've heard some about Emerald, Bishop England, and Walhalla. My question is what do each of these teams have? What makes them be a Championship finalist team is your eyes?

Good coaching, good community support and kids that love to play the game. I think you'll find those keys in every successful program. Most of the kids live and breathe soccer and play in all of their spare time...in season or not.

Bunch of lemons! It's time for Bishop England to stop taking the easiest road to a state title every year!

I see that BE had a fair result against NW and Waccamaw beat a decent 3A team... Emerald has scrimmages coming up. I guess that we will be able to compare the teams within the next few weaks.

We'll just have to see how things fall. Can't forget about the big names, but keep in mind that there are teams out there that may surprise some. Batesburg-Leesville, Palmetto, Silver Bluff, Hannahan, and Barnwell might be dark horses. Barnwell was looking good last season, but were knocked off way earlier than I thought they would. I think they have the most to prove after their roller-coaster season last year and not winning their region.

I agree 2A soccer has come up and is improving. I see this year that their will be alot more teams that may come up giving everyone a chance to win state. Our region has become stronger with the addition of Emerald, I hate to see Palmetto leave that would have made a awesome region. Walhalla is looking forward to the Palmetto Cup, I think it helped Emerald and BE alot inorder to advance to the State Finals last year.
