Good thread going over on the girls side. Which teams or players are the biggest surprises of the year?

I'll start......

Clover boys and Nation Ford boys appear to be making significant improvements up and down the line. Fort Mill and Northwestern MAY have some competition in the region in a year or two.

I agree with Big Daddy! The best thing that could have happened for Northwestern was the creation of Nation Ford HS. If that team and Fort Mill were still one team the talent level would be giving NWHS a much better run for thier money this year! As for Clover thier first year coach has got that team playing well with a solid conditioning program that has them contesting the game all the way through. Fort Mill was lucky to escape with a win last night, and looked tired down the final five min but showed heart holding CHS off.

Hey can we at Eau Claire this year get a shout out? I mean both our boys and girls teams won for the 1st time this year and the boys are in line to make the playoffs with a 5-6 record. I know we got a lot of work to do, but considering soccer didn't exist here 3 years ago, I think that ain't bad.

Eau Claire should be very proud of what they've accomplished this year. As should Gilbert and Batesburg Leesville.

On the 4A don't forget about Wren. They have had a very solid year.
