Caution issued to Airport's Garrett Simms as B-C's Taylor Lewis took it down the pitch unimpeded. The resulting free kick did not develop, though. Play is still fast and furious here at The Cage in the AAA Quarterfinals.

A flurry of action in the B-C attacking third. Two corners result in an Airport clear, but the pressure is definitely on the Eagles to preserve their one goal advantage. B-C's shots continue to go wide, and we have just over ten minutes to play with Airport holding a one to nil lead...

The second half seems to have been played for the most part in the Airport defensive half ... but the Eagles have stymied Brookland-Cayce's every effort. Less than five to play, and 4 shots to 1 for B-C is at this point for naught as the Eagles hold the advantage on the scoreboard 0:1.

Airport's #13, Griff Simms put the nail in the coffin with a nice goal on a couter and a decisive goal in the 80th minute. B-C 0:2 Airport.

Full-time at The Cage: B-C 0:2 Airport.

Congratulations to the Eagles for their win, the program's second against their district rivals since 1987. Airport advance to the state semi-finals and will travel to South Aiken tomorrow to play for the right to represent the Lower State in the State Championship match this weekend at Memorial Stadium. Good luck to the Eagles in their bid to make it to the state finals. Airport improve to 14-9 on the year while B-C finishes the season 15-9-2.

Congrats to Sam Masone; he seems to made a big difference in the Airport soccer program.

Also to B-C and Kevin for another fine playoff run.

Congratulations to Airport on a fine game and good luck in the Lower State Championship match. Airport is one of the most improved sides that I have seen. Their staff and players are to be commended for their commitment to the game.

Also, kudos to the Bearcats on a solid run in the playoffs. I really feel that our boys pretty much overachieved all year as we only returned five players from a year ago and only three starters. At 15-9-2 and region runners-up, we consider this season a success and are proud of our team's overall body of work. We bid farewell to three seniors and hope to return 13 varsity lettermen for 2010.
