Having friends going to play this weekend in Orlando, I wanted to see their schedules. What I noticed was the majority of teams were Florida based. Looking in every bracket revealed that of 158 teams in the tournament, 140 were from FL, 10 from SC, 7 from GA and 1 from NC.

I went the last two years and recall there being more teams from other states. Is my memory failing or have the numbers representing other states dwindled?

Don't developmental academy teams qualify automatically? Or is it that they are not going at all?

I believe you are correct but dhunter is talking about the qualifying tourney this weekend. Thus, it wouldn't make any sense for an academy team to attend as they are already qualified for the Disney Showcase in December.Nonetheless mostly Florida teams are represented at the Disney Qualifier.

I thought it had always been mostly Florida teams when I have looked at the brackets in past years.
