How about the tryout fee gets applied to your club fees once the player commits to the team?
I'm sure clubs nowadays budget the tryout fees as an independent item on their revenue line. How about they do away with this (and don't artificially inflate the club fees by $30 - $50 to compensate for it).
If you make the team, your $30 goes toward your club fee, if you don't make the team, or choose to play elsewhere, the club can consider that money as an independent source of revenue.
Also......I don't need another t-shirt. How about investing in "tryout pinnies" that can get used every year?
