If not the Player of the Year.....how about the Person of the Year.

Great family story. Pulitzer-worthy reporting from Barry Byers.

An incredible story about an amazing young man. I'm looking forward to reading the next two installments. I hope everyone makes their kids read this. The next time life throws them a little curveball that they think is insurmountable, maybe they'll think about Dennis and what overcoming challenges really means. I'm very pleased to know that my son will have the privilege of being his teammate for the next four years - he can learn a lot from him.

BTW - Dennis is not perfect. He's been an overnight guest in my home and he snores like a lumberjack!

Achmed see Dennis for first time at state championship last year. Was mainly interested in seeing Martinez brothers, but kept noticing the big kid up front.
Achmed had to ask….who is this kid? Dennis Moore the reply. This kid is going places!
Nothing stopped him. Kids would foul him and instead of the usual arm flinging up in the air to insist on a call from the ref, he would without a word continue on his trajectory.
Achmed have privilege of seeing him multiple time this year (club and High School) and always impressed with skill and sportsmanship. Now Achmed reads this……..
All Achmed can say is “Holy Crap”

WOW! I've seen Dennis play a few times and he is an incredible player. After reading this now I know he is an even better person. Can't wait to read the next two parts. What an amazing story.

Holy crap indeed.

I had heard a small part of this story before, but just a tiny bit. Agree with Hurst that this is a heckuva undertaking by Barry Byers and as good a human interest story as I've read in a long time. I look forward to... the rest.....of the story.

Wow, what a great story. Dennis is a fine young man. While many of us have been impressed with his soccer skills, this story now gives us all a better perspective of his life skills. Wofford College is not only getting an outstanding player that will bring lots to the field, but a fine young man that will bring something special to its campus. I cannot wait to read parts two and three. I want to combine all three parts into one document, print, and save . . .
