Strange that Fort Mill would have that many kids in the school and still be in 3A.

They must be cheating!

Or.....are these figures a little dated?

The school website for Rock Hill High has it just under 2000 and Northwestern list just over 1700 students. Cant imagine either Ft Mill school having more than those two schools and being dropped to 3A.Without seeing Nation Ford or South Point listed in the post, these numbers may be before they opened and that is why the Rock Hill and Ft Mill schools look so high.

I'd say that demographics is the key, not sheer size.

Soccer is the people's sport just about everywhere in the world. Is in elitist sport everywhere else. It is mostly in the latter that demographics matter. There are also many other factors to consider. (Was it not careless to make great deal of the country size of Slovenia to the US last summer?) Is there a thread that addresses this?

While your numbers are useless becasue they are way out of date the answer to the question is YES (sort of!) but it is not the most important factor, I would say that would be the number/availability of club players who play at levels above rec. especially on the girls side.

I go with demographics. If size was the key Wando would be players in other sports like football or basketball. Lot of larger schools don't do well in football. Why does Byrnes have all the good football players.
