I was thinking back to the Enzo era and realized he had a great team but easily could have carried them sub-par. Are there any other stories out there of a player pulling his team along for the ride?

Not that CN doesn't have a good supporting cast, they do, but Koty Millard carries this team. His energy and pace are amazing. I saw him against NN/Eastside and he's certainly the best player I've seen this year.

I think overall Soccer in SC has improved a great deal, going back to my old days, in the 80's when we walked to school ten miles up hill both ways, I remeber some teams that had some outstanding players...good supporting cast that could carry teams, Bill Gibbs from Stall (Threat to score anywhere) I had one Tony Howell (went on to play for Lander) could will their teams to win, both these players had good support, but they were the main show for their teams. As time went on to my Coaching into the 2000's, the overall depth, or quality of a "supporting" cast had improved such a great deal. I always remebering stating during cuts about how a player that I was about to let go would have started for us 15 years earlier. I also wanted to note the two players that were mentioned in earlier post I assume were also great leaders, and have great work ethic. Being a great player does not make you a great leader

I remember a few years ago when Justin Blomdahl played for NMB and score 50+ goals his senior outing. That team just kept feeding him the ball no matter what.

I don't think a forward can be the answer to this question. They can only do so much. If their midfield sucks, they won't have the ball much to create scoring opportunities and most good teams would be able to take the scorer out of the game if they don't have to defend the mids tight.

I agree with it being a player like Koty Millard, a box to box midfielder who contributes on defense and is involved in the attack.

I don't know about "carries this team", but I do know that he continuously showed up in my viewfinder.
