Congratulations to all these young men on their selection to the All-Region team in arguably the toughest region top to bottom in the state!

Wow was Dorman the only people voting ????

27 players on the all-region team? I guess their region is so good that they get 1st and 2nd teams and a few honorable mentions.

I really did not post this so you guys could make comments about how we do the voting or how many players are on the list. Our region bylaws are set by the AD's at the region meeting and coaches have very little input on this process as it applies to several sports.

We are allowed to select a certain number of players for our teams based on our region finish. Any player who participates in the Clash or North/South is automatically All-Region and does not count towards our allotted number of players. We also are allowed to vote on 2 at-large players that are nominated by coaches. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players either. Our region has 7 senior players participating in either Clash or North/South this year.

Is 27 players a large number for All-Region? Yes

Are these 27 student athletes deserving of being named All-Region? Yes

There are also a few very good players in our region who weren't selected based on disciplinary issues or suspensions.

Is our region loaded? We have very good teams in our region and on any night any one team can be beat by another. Hopefully our region's depth will help each of our teams in the playoffs, but that remains to be seen. Anything can happen from here on out.

And how did the Dorman coach get COY when JL Mann won the region?

The region coaches voted on coach of the year and you could not vote for yourself, based on number of votes Josh won and is well deserved!

So El winning your Region makes you coach of the year? Maybe someone did a great job and deserves it more than another regardless of their record. Some great coaches around the state that didn't win their region but will receive recognition.

In the past, the coach that won the region was automatically coach of the year. I guess this has changed. . .

Elpalido- This list was posted so these boys could get the recognition they deserve, not for you to question it. If you have a problem with the criteria or process become an AD at one of the schools in Region II AAAA and help change it. We as coaches are not able to do it.

And as to Region COY, there are a number of coaches in our region who deserve it and do an excellent job with their team. I was honored to be selected, but the purpose of this is for the athletes.

I would agree with you on one thing, it is a tough region top to bottom. How else can you explain a team with only one "All-Region" selection defeating a team with 7 selections PLUS player and coach of the region?
