NCAA suspends, reprimands SCarolina assistant

Guess the rules are the rules - but what a great guy and even better coach.

Very sad to hear this news, but Coach Bert Molinary is a great coach and a great person.

Was at game. Bert was talking to a fellow coach when he made a PG rated comment about the ref's inability to control the game and prevent injuries. The 4 th official overheard him and red carded Bert in the last few minutes of the game - therefore Bert has to sit out a game. Since it was a tournament game he has to sit out a tournament game.

I was there too. Much ado about nothing. Lots of respect for Coach Molinary and USC.

We ALL have our moments. Given Coach Molinary's generally decent demeanor, I wouldn't make any more of it than that, even if he actually DID say something inappropriate IN THIS INSTANCE.
That said, and just guessing, the comment in question probably capped an ongoing narrative from the USC bench (players and coaches), and offered the 4th official a chance to make a disciplinary statement without actually taking on the head coach.
