So lets revive the debate-I know its early in the season but I noticed that a club team (CESA) defeated the visiting Nigerian Academicals team while an Academy team (Charleston Battery Academy) tied the same team- SCU Academy will play them on Monday

South Carolina only has one academy. Why do you seem to think there is one in Charleston and one in Columbia? What a joke. CESA has very good teams and the Academy team is very good. When very good teams play each other anyone can win on a given day.

lvrpul,
Why do continue to argue this topic?
The SC United Academy team is the only academy team in the state, and for the "elite" players in the low country, its their best option. Just like players in Greenville choosing to play on a CESA premier team. It is very black and white, and frankly a stale topic.
So again I ask, Why do you continue to argue this topic?

Having watched kids from CESA and the Academy play with and against each other for the better part of a decade, my observation is simple: They are so similar in almost every way as to render this discussion pointless.
The ongoing need to declare one side superior to the other is tiresome at best; ignorant at worst.
The truth is, BOTH systems provide motivated, talented kids with the training environment and competitive opportunities they need to transition to the "next" level.
Many from BOTH actually do.
