Well, big or not, they were better tonight. Congrats to Wando. We were not able to get into our groove and show our best stuff but let's be honest enough to give Wando some credit for that. Other really good teams tried all year to pressure us out of our rhythm and couldn't do it.
To all the Patriots' players, parents, and our coach, thank you for a beautiful season. Our girls took Mann to a new level, which we will sustain, and played with fantastic quality. Well done Patriots!

Very good game. Well played by both sides, physical but not dirty. Best part was meeting several Mann students after the game at a gas station. Great group of kids. Good luck next season.

And runner up again in 2013

How did that prediction workout for you? and uwishucouldplay, who were those players you were speaking highly of from ECNL that were gonna "beat" Wando? Since they've "won many times" vs the Wando girls you would think that when it came down to the state championship they would win again...Guess that you were wrong too.

Wait a second... someone from the largest school in the state is talking trash because they beat a school half their size???

Really??

What would happen if JL Mann with 1700 students took on Indian Land with 660 students?? Or pick any 2a public school in the state. I am guessing the 2a school would be killed by just any any decent 4a team.

You want an even game? Go down the Wando roster and take every girl born on an odd numbered day off the rooster (you can bring up some JV girls to make up the difference) that will cut your team in half and bring you about even with the teams you are so excited about beating every year.

I'd say most comments on this post are talking trash so I'm not different. In the other hand, the numbers are definitely an advantage but wouldn't that mean Wando would dominate other sports too? It's not like they went undefeated and blew out every opponent, they lost to Lexington and had a close call against Dutch Fork. Most of them have played together for a long time and have been on the big stage before, state was a competitive game but the only thing matters is going out there and getting the job done. By the way hell yea I'm excited, just as you would be if Mann won.

Being excited is good. Your girls and boys are doing what the can in the situation.

But don't act like it is a huge accomplishment to win year after year when you are double the size of everyone else and competing in a sport that is very socio-economic.

I am guessing that the sports you don't dominate aren't socio-economic.

Isn't Mann able to draw students that are not in their geographic drawn attendance zones?

Lot of whining going on here. Game is played by the 11 on the field. Don't see anyone complaining about the advantage upstate girls get from the excellent club training programs in their own back yard at CESA. Congrats to Wando...no matter how many students they have. An unbelievable run in state finals. Can't argue with success......
