Wow, Kailey Mattison from JL Mann makes U-15 National Team, but is not good enough to make SC 2013 Final Girls Power Ranking? And she does not make Freshmen of the Year.

This is High School soccer. How about the Freshman that had 15 goals and 15 assists or the one that 20 goals and 15 assists? Does she deserve it more than these girls?
You can't play in only 4 games, 1 goal, and no assist and be the best player in the Freshman class. It doesn't add up.

Glad to see Swansea player got Freshmen of the year. She is a great player and scores some goals. Although this list is dominated by 3A, 4A, and some private schools that should be in SCISA (but we can discuss that later). There are some really good 2A/1A players that don't get the noterity that they deserve. Take a school like Pelion for example, their overall record was 10 wins and 11 losses, but against 1A/2A competition they were 8-2. A majority of their losses came against top level 3A and 4A schools. I would like to see Jessica Prevette make this list next year. She is a goal scorer and should make All State next year as well.

Are you referencing Stenisha?
If you are, she is a pleasure to coach on and off the field. She comes from a good family, but does not have the financial benefits most players in soccer experience. I think sometimes we put too much stock in these rankings, but it is flattering to those who are mentioned. Who is to say who the best freshman is? These are always arguable cases. Please understand she is a fine young lady and deserving to be mentioned. She ended the year with 40 goals and did not play in every game. She scored the game-tying goal with 30 seconds left in regulation against BC and then hoisted the team on her shoulders in overtime to score the game-winner.
I like these lists and they are good for conversation...but let's keep it in perspective :-)
