The girls roster does not have a player from JL Mann or Lexington......yet the All State teams have several...how are these rosters selected?

Several of the players will be competing in the US Youth Soccer Region III Championships at Little Rock, Arkansas that weekend and were not available for Clash of the Carolinas selection. Lexington is very young this year.

Thank you however, your answer does not apply to the 5 Mann All State players.

Three are seniors and two are juniors. Mann has been to the state championship game the last two years and now this year.

All 5 players are CESA ECNL with Nationals June 20-24 and none play Region 3.

Still wondering how a team returning to the state championship for 3rd year had ALL their players overlooked.

Only seniors are eligible for the all-star games. I only see 2 seniors from Mann on the all-state list.

The Clash of the Carolinas takes place during the ECNL National Qualifier/Championship in Seattle. All five of the Mann All-state players will be in Seattle during the Clash.

Only 2 from one team can make the Clash roster and there were 2 Mann players selected originally - but they declined. They should limit the number of All States from one team also - 5 from Mann is too many - especially since the team that beat them in state the last 2 years only had one player selected.
All these state honors selections come down to who is on the committee and who shows up to vote that day. The 8 teams that showed up had 14 players selected ...while the 44 other teams in Girls AAAA had 4 selected. It's not a perfect process but at least they are recognizing some very good players.

The Clash of the Carolinas features 72 of the top graduated senior boys and girls soccer players across the Carolinas in the nation's only interstate all-star prep soccer contest. The matches will be held June 27 at Blackbaud Stadium home of the USL's Charleston Battery on beautiful Daniel Island, SC.

I think these teams need to be picked at the end of the year when coaches have seen all the players more, have time to nominate, and have all the numbers. Samuel Thompson from Seneca has the most points in the sate is 3A all state and isn't on the team granted he wasn't nominated. He's better than some of the kids on the clash team and it's a shame. I can't imagine 12 out of the best 18 players in the state come from just 6 teams. Also strange out of 11 players selected all of their coaches are on the selection committee. Where there's smoke there's fire.et Samuel come try out for the clash he better than half the kids on the team.
