I saw one proposal to move to 6A... it would put 34ish football playing schools in each classification. This proposal would use a point system to determine playoffs in all team sports.

I'm curious as to when they are going to vote or make a decision to which one they are going to go with.
Are private schools going to have to play up? Does that include Magnet schools and Charter Schools?

Please find below the ranking of schools.

The schools ranking assignments are the results of the 135 ADM as supplied by the State Department of Education, verified by the schools, and adjustments to the 135 ADM based on extenuating circumstances (i.e. school district consolidations, redrawing of district attendance lines, opening of new schools, etc.).

The League office will now accept 2016-2018 realignment proposals from the member schools. There shall be five classifications. The goal is to reduce the disparity within each classification’s enrollment while being sensitive to geographic concerns.

here are a few guidelines (no order of importance intended).

1.If at all possible, schools are to be assigned by numerical order. In an effort to address geographic/travel concerns, a team(s) may be moved up or down in a classification provided its enrollment is within 50 students of the top or bottom of the new classification it is to be assigned.

2.There is no minimum or maximum number of schools to be placed in a classification. Each classification may have a different number of schools.

3.There is no minimum or maximum number of regions to be placed in each classification. Each classification may have a different number of regions.

4.There is no minimum or maximum number of schools to be placed in each region. Be mindful of contest limitations and the ability to schedule non-region contests.

5.Give strong consideration to dividing the schools in a given classification into regions as evenly as possible while being mindful of the geographic issues that may impact this consideration. Travel issues may negatively impact the ability to honor this consideration.

6.Consider multiple schools in same district.

7.Consider rivalries.

8.Consider the effects one classification may have on another classification (i.e. scheduling, open dates, etc.).

The League staff will review all proposals during July and develop realignment. In August, the realignment of schools will be presented to the member schools.
