(Editor's Note: I personally believe that this session was a nice change of pace in terms of the type of speaker and the content covered).SCHSSCA BUSINESS MEETINGSCHSSCA Associate State Director Kevin Heise presented an update on the SCHSSCA happenings from Spring/Summer 2015: SCHSL State Championships, All-State, North-South Soccer Classic, Clash of the Carolinas, future all-star plans (selections, sites, sponsorships, ads, format, etc.).
Proposal to alter the current format of the SCHSL State Championship Weekend for 2016 to include Friday's matches of Class 2A and Class 1A Boys and Class 2A/1A Girls. This would allow for Saturday Class 3A (Boys/Girls) and Class 4A (Boys/Girls). A letter will be sent to member schools' principals and ADs in order to reflect this proposal.
Graham Stafford (Clover HS) began the discussion of allowing for Development Academy players to join high school teams after the DA season is complete (and just in time for the SCHSL State Playoffs). This discussion led to an overwhelming majority in favor of some implementation of 'ethical' soccer practices amongst member schools in the future. Much of this is discussed in this thread -

Skip Lax (skip@schsl.org) of the SCHSL facilitated the Rules Meeting and covered all protocol for NFHS/SCHSL member schools.
(Editor's Note): Similar to the SCACA Business Meeting is the SCHSSCA Business Meeting in regards to attendance. The SCHSSCA Business Meeting was attended by approximately 65 people. In contrast, the SCHSL Rules Meeting which followed, had almost double the attedance. We simply need more participation which helps in the understanding of what is truly involved in the year-round promotion of our sport.SCACA / SCHSSCA NEWS & NOTESSCACA Service Awards
