I couldn't help but notice that 7 of the 8 teams in the Boys 4A Third Round will be 5A schools next year. Only Bluffton which will be split to form the new May River HS will drop from 4A to 3A.

The same applies to 3A as well - all eight teams in the Quarterfinals will be 4A next season. And, it is true in the 2A ranks, too! 7 of the 8 teams playing on Saturday will be 3A next year - only Academic Magnet will remain in that classification.

I guess some teams that traditionally get blocked by these larger enrollments will be breathing a sigh of relief to know they have an opportunity to progress in the postseason in 2017 and 2018.

I'm curious to see how 2A and 3A shake up. Especially with 2A losing Bishop England and Waccamaw from the Lower State and adding St. Joseph and Christ Church to the Upstate
