I didn't know where to post this since Wayne has been involved with almost every level of soccer in the state of SC for over 20 years. But currently, I see him on the field as a ref at Charleston Battery matches.

You may have seen reports yesterday of a North Charleston police office shot responding to a call. That officer was Wayne. His bullet proof vest stopped the round and he's going to be OK. He's a very lucky man. Keep him & his family in your thoughts and prayers.

The police officer shot was actually Wayne's son. When this was first reported, there were no photos of the officer, only the name. I asked around and was told it was Wayne Sr. but last night more details were reported and it was in fact Wayne Jr., his son. I apologize for the mistake.
