Academic Magnet (Charleston, SC) is looking to host a 3A, 4A, 5A or SCISA boys and girls team from South Carolina or any classification team from Georgia for our annual #PinkStrong game on either Saturday, March 2 or Saturday, March 23.
Although the game is called #PinkStrong, it is actually for colon cancer awareness. The game is in honor of a friend of mine (Ben Pinkerton) who passed away from colon cancer. March is colon cancer awareness month.
We are looking for teams from a different classification to eliminate possible rematches with 1A or 2A teams in the playoffs. It would also help to schedule a team not already coming to our tournaments so that we all get to play different teams.
We want this to be a varsity double header to maximize our donation to the Colon Cancer Alliance. The girls typically kick off at 11am and the boys at 1pm, but those times are flexible.
If you would like to make a weekend trip out of it, I can help set you up with a Friday night game as well.
