Interesting numbers. I've always said that the best AAA, AA, A, and SCISA teams can hang with the best 10-15 AAAA programs in the state. One thing that has always made me laugh is when someone says that "we beat a AAAA team" and that team was a Lower Richland or Lancaster, when many teams in their own area are members of lower classes but much better than the bigger schools.

Ok, you said:

I simply stated that the top 3A teams can best most of the 4A teams...

followed by:

when you get to the top teams in each division there really isn't much difference...

but then you label yourself a hypocrite when you state:

Yes, if you took the top 5, 10, or 15 schools in 4A and matched them with the same group in 3A in some huge tournament I would bet that 4A would win the majority, but most certainly not all

I am confused by your zig-zagging tactics. I bet you voted for Kerry, didn't you?

And how is that being a hypocrite? Explain.

On average the 4A teams are probably stronger, but as you said R1C there are exceptions. The exceptions are very strong. Look at Christ Church over the years. I don't know how it is in other parts of the state but in Greenville, schools like Mann and Greenville are Magnet schools, which means they can take people in from outside their normal area. This gives an advantage to a 3A or smaller school.

Politics...

Are you guys gonna fight like the Russian Senate or just argue like Parliament?

Either way I'm entertained. [Smile]

We're sharpening one another's convictions through fire. Let us be...

If there isn't much difference between the tops in AAA compared to the tops in AAAA, why would AAAA win "most", if not all games when lined up side by side? If there was not much difference, wouldn't it be split or a tough call to predict?

Truth is that there is a difference between AAAA and AAA. If you lined them up side by side according to rankings the AAAA would win the majority. That is the advantage of having a bigger school.

That being said, I still respect AAA. I just think your over zealous for your cause.

Maybe. I wish there was more data on this.

I think it's time to move on to another meaningless subject. When is someone going to start another thread on who is going to win it all?

Don't forget Spring Valley on that list. They've been ranked all year and played 3, 3A schools I beleive. A loss to Flora and wins over Dreher and Chapin. Maybe they've played more but I'm not sure.

Spring Valley got lucky against chapin. A goal in the last minute while the keeper was down resulted in the win. SV did get outplayed.
