Can u use metal tipped cleats? I bought some of the Nike Air Total Zooms & they had the metal tips. Can u use those in high school soccer in S.C.?

I'm not too sure. Lots of people have told me that they are illegal, but when playing edisto last year, many of their players had metal tipped studs, and the Officials seemed to have no problem with it.
I guess it may just be up to the Field official who is currently on the field. You could always bring two pairs to a game, and ask the ref if your new nikes are legal.

Well im pretty sure you can wear them but the ref keeps and eye out for you the most. if you come in on a hard tackle your most likely going to get a yellow card. so like aleksandrus said have a second pair on hand. later

from what i've heard you can't. i wouldn't want metal studded kleats anyways because its alittle to heavy. should get you a pair of "Copa's". there the best.

I have always been under the impression you can wear metal studs. From personal experience, the field judge will check your cleats separately and make sure there are no sharp edges. As long as it is a rounded stud, it is legal. If the judge feels any sharp edges, you will be forced to either change the stud or wear a different pair.

Yes, u are allowed to wear metal studs, why else would major companies like nike and adidas make them. Plus, IhsCenterMid06 is a moron because cleats with metal studs are lighter than ones without, and copas are not the best pairs, but what do u know.

LOL are u serious ? your next game or if u even play... ask a reff thx. They wouldn't let me wear a pair of Air zooms which had metal studs my freshman year... and thats my opinion about copa's... if u even know what they are.

I'm also pretty sure that you can wear metal cleats in schsl. Several of the players on my team wore them in our scrimmage last week and the ref said nothing.

We had magnesium tipped cleats last year and the only time a ref asked us about it was in the second round of playoffs in waccamaw. Our coach told him that they were magnesium tipped and not metal and he checked for sharp edges and that was the end of it. He didn't say anything else...So as long as they dont appear to be dangerous the refs really dont care...
