I love how everyone keeps bashing on our D. Our D has turned itself around since we lost to northwestern and Norman north. U look at our scores and we have not given up more than 1 goal in regulation since then. U watch we will beat SV and get back on track to winning yet another region championship. Does anyone really think DF is better than us after watching us play?

Hmmm.... is Irmo putting it all together now? Should be a good game vs DF next week!

after the first intial 10/15 minutes of play, it was ALL irmo. there was a huge no call PK in the box as Acree was about to score. a few minutes later a PK is called for irmo because of a foul on jugal(i think). prince shoots, keeper saves and acree hits it home. what a nice finish for acree since he should have had the goal on the flagrant foul( the no call) in the first place.

1-0 halftime.

irmo misses a few good oppurtunities, but still played excellent. acree has an excellent flick back header from the six but is saved by the defender.

few minutes later a corner is taken for irmo. monroe takes the corner and passes it to acree; acree return passes right back to monroe who drills it from the 18. dings off the post for a great goal (50th min).

2-0 FINAL

irmo owned SV. the defense was very impressive, nothing like what is being blabbed all over the board. same with the goalkeeping for irmo. prince did a great job getting back and helping in the back. the attacking was great, the trio had lots of great looks at the goal. jugle and leo also had solid games.

great game ahead next week. irmo is definetly a legitimate contender.

Good point ihs12. DF scores 0 goals in 90 minutes. Lexington gets 1 goal in 90 minutes, on a fortunate carom. SV, 0 goals in 80 minutes. What is so wrong with the Irmo defense???

..whatever was/is wrong may be fixed. But you can't blame people after 7 game stretch with 11 goals against.

I'm tempted to say it's a combination of Irmo is putting it together..and SV has that amazing ability to choke in the clutch. But I'm not out there watching the games.. so..what do I know?

Props to Irmo though..going to be a really interesting region scenario.

Actually, the bad streak lasted from Friday night until Saturday morning. Two games, seven goals allowed. Norman North, Northwestern, the first two games of the Lake Murray Classic.

Since then Irmo has allowed 4 goals in 9 games. It is 4 goals in 10 games, if you include the Ben Lippen scrimmage.

But Irmo has not done well in PKs.
