I think college soccer is a great thing for students to be involved in. I have a question to players that are playing or have played college soccer. I would like to hear your opinions of playing college soccer and also about the lifestyle.

Do you like your team?
Do you like being a soccer player and attending college at the same time?

Just curious as to how you guys like soccer in the next level...

Thanks a lot!

Being part of a team is a great benefit for a number of reasons. It is especially beneficial when the team gets along really well, as mine does. Attending college at the same time is good but a little hard as academics require a lot of work and there are many other social callings that you may be forced to miss out on due to soccer.

Very impressive to have so many players from one high school going on to play college soccer. Good luck to all.

Kudos to the Dreher boy’s team. In addition to their outstanding accomplishments on the field (undefeated region champs and state runner-ups), the seniors on this team excelled in the classroom. Nine out of eleven seniors were named Richland One Academic All-Stars (4.0 or better GPA in honors and AP classes) and 9 were selected as SCHSL Scholar Athletes. Amongst this group of seniors, three are in the top 20 of the graduating class, one is a Wendy’s High School Heisman State finalist, and all will be attending college this fall with at least four hoping to play soccer:
Carl Anderson – Appalachian State
Taylor Aull - Clemson
Sean Baier – University of South Carolina
Andy Egan – Georgia Institute of Technology
Drew Leatherman - Tulane
John McClam – Tulane
George Rushe – College of Charleston Honors
Edward Smith – College of Charleston
Benny Smith – Furman University
Thomas Thunell – Brown University
Daniel Touma – University of South Carolina Capstone College

Thanks to Coach Rowell for producing such fine "student athletes".

News that Nathan Arroyo will no longer be attending Francis Marion and will instead head to SMC along with 8 of his former NW teammates and then hope to transfer out after a year or two.
