I'm not gonna lie I haven't payed close attention this year since I've been away but seriously how bad is Ridge View. I don't see them being much of a contender with a 10-11 record. They obviously have lost some of the hardcore attitude they used to have. Are they even going to be able to hang on in the first round against South Florence. From competing for state championships to competing to qualify for playoffs?

Ridge View is probably the best 4 seed in the playoffs. They played in the toughest region in the state. They have some talent and could win a few games.

They are by far the best # 4 team, but thats only because that is the only region with 4 actual teams in it.

In any of the other regions, Ridgeview is probably a lock for #3 or maybe even #2. They have a few quality players. A good number of them play club. So how bad is Ridgeview? I don't think they are bad at all. They have talent and would have been a lot more successful if they didn't have to play teams like Irmo and Spring Valley twice. They also lost a lot of close games against high ranked teams in Region 5.

Also if you look at their schedule all of their losses except for one have come to ranked teams - they also have had a tough schedule being in region 5

I see Ridge View playing Spring valley on Saturday. They are by far the best #4, they should make quick work of SF (actually no team from region 6 will be playing on Thursday), and I think they will win over Summerville who will beat West Ashley.

The rematch of a very close game against Spring Valley would actually be played at Ridge View i believe.

How would this happen? I thought that the higher seed would get the home game. The home fields are only determined by the brackets if the seeds are the same. Or am I wrong?

I thought it was only applicable to the second round. If it is not then my apologies. The SCHSL has the lower portion playing at home.

Higher Region Finish will always host Lower Region Finish. If two teams finish in the same position within their respective Region, the bracket will determine the host.

Well i have to agree ridgeview is not bad at all. but the best 4 seed by far? look at aiken high, they play tough with both teams, looking at the 2-1 tough loss to SA you cant say they are bad, and looking back at the 2-0 victory aiken had over ridgeview i cant say that ridgeview blows aiken out of the water for best #4 seed.
