not to stir the pot or anything but Summerville couldn't even put a goal onto the board against WA until what....the 88th minute? Summerville played well and should be the favorite for this game but I feel like it will require a little bit more than a last second nailbiter to pull this one out. I can't say I know a whole lot about Ridgeview but from what I hear it should be a good game. Good luck to both teams and represent the lower state well!

Size means nothing green eggs, Ridge Views goalie is all over the place he is one of the quickest goalies i have seen, the defense has a few holes however. It will be a close game but its a coin flip in whose favor. If Ridge View keeps their heads up and dont fall asleep they should come away with a win.

Let's also remember that West Ashley scored in the opening minutes and never scored again..It's not always about who can score...Defense wins Championships..I predict a close game and a nail biter to the final whistle

blazer,

If the Ridgeview team has trouble holding their heads up, and also with staying awake during games, I'll have to go with Summerville on this one.

Now, if the RV players fall asleep STANDING UP, then I say it's a MUCH closer game. In that case, the Summerville boys will actually have to put together some passes.

Wow....that's a tough call...but I still go with Summerville, 1-0 over RV.

Hopefully, the RV coach can figure out a way to keep those boys from snoozing.

Defense does not always win championships....just because they say that when the Ravnes, Bucs and Steelers win the Superbowl does not mean it applies to soccer. If you can't score in soccer you are screwed from the opening minute...your D could play their butts off and give up a fluke goal and not be there to reap the benefits at the end because their offense couldn't put a goal on the board....WA played a pretty good defensive game the other night and they were unable to gain a victory becuase they could only score one goal...and that was their downfall. Playing 88 minutes of great D didn't lose them the game....only getting one goal did. If Summerville didn't score the other night would you be saying defense wins championships? I don't think you would....

the statement implies tht u can score goals but u dont get scored on, and if all you do is score goals and dont defend you are more than likely going to lose when you play a decent team tht is good on both sides of the field, but a team tht has average forwards and great defenders is usually going to do better than a team with great forwards and average defenders, for example in last yrs state championship, 1-0 not a high scoring game, both defenses played very well and in the end SA defense held out and won even if jamal is a dynamic forward and can score, but would u not say the same a bout prince and monroe for irmo so the defense makes or breaks the champions

well I guess this is one of those insert foot into mouth moments...RV has definitely taken advantage of the easiest playoff path thus far...I don't see them going much further then this though...Now there are only real teams left and I just don't see them being able to compete on this level...but congrats on not falling out earlier...The winner of the James Island and Spring Valley game should easily take this (SV)...It will be kind of cool to see another RV V SV 3rd round game...everyone remembers the last one...with the handball that sent it into pks and the missed pk after taunting...and RV won to go on to lose to wando...unfortunately I see spring valley walking all over them this time...no one is gonna be able to keep up with flynn and clements up top...especially with RV's defense...they still don't have a shut out against anyone of quality and I don't see that coming this late into the year
