I have to say that the Summerville RV match will be closer than most think. Summerville's field is better than RV. I have had the pleasure of playing at RV 3 times in the last few years and thier field is worse than Summerville. Almost same size,,, maybe shorter. They have a lacorse team that also uses the field. ALL DIRT down the middle! so playing conditons are not a factor. It should be a great game! The key will be adjustments during the game. Each team does not really know each other that well so it should be intresting.

obviously i'd pick NW to come out of this one. Fort Mill will be fine and will proceed onward. SA of course. SV vs. JI wont even be close. SV is a superior squad with superior teamwork and talent. i dont think summerville will come out of this one. RV i've heard bad things, but i dont believe everything i hear. RV 2 S'ville 1. i'm not even gonna start with Irmo vs. Wando. And finally DF vs. HH will be a great game. i dont know who will come out of this one.

Coach J - I believe you. Lacrosse absdolutely eats a field. Our rec used to host a spring lacrosse tournament, which ruined the field every year. I know the field conditions at McKissick Stadium are out of the control of the soccer program there. As to Ridgeview, we know the four teams out of Region 5 are all very good, but were not tested by the region 6 teams in the first round at all. I think the teams from Region 7 & 8 will do pretty well tonight. Surviving this far in the low country means you have to be very good. Both teams have to play on the same field. Look for Summerville to score off a set play or a long throw-in into the box. They can send a throw in deep into the box from near the center line on their field. I look for S'ville to advance in a close match.

Starting with the SV game, tighter than most think. JI gets one late but falls short 2-1. Ridgeview and Summerville... not as good of a game as people think it should be, Ridgeview 3-1. Speed and size will beat Summerville on the small field. Irmo and Wando will be a heck of a game. Wando has the home field advantage but I think that Irmo is a better team in the play-offs behind their coach. Irmo wins with a late goal... less than 5 minutes or even first overtime. Dutch Fork and Hilton is the second best game of the night, only behind the Irmo/Wando game. Dutch Fork comes out slow and dodges a couple of early chances by HH. HH fails to capitalize on their early chances and loses 2-0. I think that Region 5 will show why they were the toughest region in the state this year. I pick an all region 5 lowerstate semi.

I missed SA over Mauldin and S-ville over RV.. but I'll take that if it means Irmo is gone..ANYDAY! Couldn't be much happier with the score either.. no excuses after 4-1 ..but i'm sure goirmo.com will think of something..
Next round:
NW FM
SV Wando
Thoughts:
NW/Lex will be close..no 6-1 or 10-1 here.. NW wins 2-1, 2-0, 3-1.
FM won't let Mauldin upset them..they want NW too bad.
RV just doesn't have the guns for SV. Only way SV loses is if they remember they are SV.
Wando is on a roll.. HH has ridiculous offense..but if you hold Irmo to 1..and put in 4.. you're pretty friggin' good.

WAIT!! Irmo can never lose. None of Wando's 4 goals crossed over the goal line!! None of them!! There are pictures!! Go to goirmo.com and see. But on the otherhand, if the 4 shots did cross the goal line, then there are pictures that show that 4 other Irmo shots crossed the goal line as well. So it was 5-4 or 1-0 Irmo. On a serious note, HH will take Wando in a battle royale, then take the local pretenders, SV, on their way to Stone. And of course, NW will get nasty revenge on FM to make it to Stone.

Hey Lampshade: I think I picked Wando to advance also, but I was wrong about Summerville. The best you can say about S'ville is they have been very inconsistent all season. Ridgeview must be peaking at the right time. Can Spring Valley beat them 3 times?
