Ben Lippen 1
Porter Gaud 0

Shots: 20-9
Saves: 5-12
Fouls: 15-16

Goals: 49' KC Dunbaker (Tyler)

Porter Gaud was not without their chances, and Ben Lippen's keeper played a heck of a game. However, Ben Lippen should/would have had 3 or 4 more if it weren't from a spectacular game by the chucktown goalie. Also, Culbertson's shot off the post was a frickin cannon, and Chang's shot of the post wasn't too shabby either. I would have to say that while Ben Lippen could have put in 5, PG could have put in 1. Congrats Pinewood, we'll see ya Saturday, I hope you bring us the game you've been playing lately, you'll need it.

Well.. if you were worried with Irmo losing in the 2nd round you wouldn't get to see your token "we dyed our hair for playoffs" team..NEVER FEAR!

Tonight Ben Lippen edged out Porter-Gaud to secure their spot in the SCISA finals. Maybe it's the hair, maybe it's the Infamous Benp, maybe it's L-E Dude on the sidelines.. who knows!

I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

 -
Ben (#2)..didn't your mommy tell you not to play with your cornhole in public?!

 -
No really..this is Ben Lippen.

 -
More unnecessary shots of a blonde team.

 -
BL's Kyle Tyler - assisting KC Dunbaker's lone goal on a quick restart.

 -
Love the PG keeper's style.

 -
Yes folks, it's Beaver Ball. 21 fouls in the 1st half.. less than 10 in the 2nd.

 -
Goal kick after some good back and forth action in the final minutes.

 -
And all 12 members of the BL student body celebrate with the players after the whistle.

My overall thoughts:

#10 from PG was a stand-out player in the first half..and then kind of disappeared in the 2nd. Still had his hand in creating a lot of opportunities for PG at the end. The keeper for PG also had some big saves. Definitely kept the game tight (as did the post).

For BL: Josh Settle had a big game..making some stellar saves to secure the win..while Justin Lambert played a great game in the back. The midfield in general played really well tonight..specifically KC and Chandler made for some exciting soccer. Especially Chandler's monster shot in the closing minutes that hit the crossbar..just..utterly fulfilling to watch.

That's it for my thoughts..now for what the players thought. (apologize for the background noise..can't really help it)

Crap or get off the pot! ..love it.

Thanks to the BL guys for having a word with me..and best of luck against Pinewood.

Good luck to both Ben Lippen and Pinewood in the finals. Obviously, the two best teams all year long in SCISA.Should be a great match....I 'll be there to enjoy the game, but I not going to lie, I'll be more than a little envious of the teams fortunate enough to be competing....As you get older ,you realize how lucky you were to be a part of a game like this. Most people never experience a championship game setting. You are fortunate.ENJOY!!!!

hey what is up with the black? BL colors are Green and yellow and white, unless they have changed them since I graduated. Come on at least wear green warmup shirts.

Maybe dye your hair green for the final now that would be orginal.

Didn't they have black jerseys back in the day though?

Just a thought.. they may not be allowed to dye their hair any "extreme" colors.

The jerseys were Pumas white and green with a spiral column down the middle but that was 95-97, I saw the JV wearing them a couple of years ago. Good luck guys work on your Finishing /haha
