So, how did the Bridge teams do the first weekend? I know I can check hotstat, but I don't have time to scroll from division to division. Thanks!

So it looks like the guys did pretty well, but what's up with the girls side? Are they still just starting to come together or is it just the age group?

Speaking of doing well I saw the results on the Aiken tournament website. The 92 boys Red won two games Saturday.

10-0
14-0

Classy.

tommy,i think the 92 team played a man down for most of the second half of the second match. they also changed all the kids around and kept passing the ball in both matches. not sure, but there were teams in other age groups which had similar scores. perhaps these teams were in the wrong bracket. a mercy rule would have prevented these kinds of scores -- maybe aiken should think about doing that. The 92 red team went on to win the championship...congrats.

Self-delusion isn't a profitable policy for either kids or adults. If Bridge was 10+ points better than these teams, so be it.

This kind of thing tends to work itself out. Teams winning by these types of margins typically don't come back to tournaments; so the tender sensibilities that are offended will heal over time.

Chico, Your comments are always welcome. It is my understanding that the Bridge 92 boys red is really a U-12 team with some kids younger than that playing regular season matches in the U-13 challenge bracket. They did play a man down the majority of the second half in one game and their last 2 matches provided more competition.

I'm sure you will only see this team in the highest bracket they can get into from here on out.
