SCCRMOM: While I haven't asked anyone that question, my guess would be that they have a policy of doing age groups together because they didn't see a great need in people finding out about classic 10-days [or whatever] ahead of premier/challenge. If you see a great benefit in that, I'd recommend you contact them [via e-mail from the web site or whatever] and help them understand the need. Everytime I've raised something that I thought could be better, they've either helped me to understand why they did it or said they'd change it in the future.

Many clubs do not like to announce until they see the numbers (how many teams and what age groups). If solid returning team, much easier to get club to commit. It is a catch-22 process as the coach is one of the important pieces before signing on.

The Congaree Rapid Soccer Association will hold Fall soccer tryouts for boys and girls in the U9-U18 age groups May 20-24 at three sites in the Columbia area.

From downtown Columbia: Cross the Blossom Street Bridge towards Cayce (across the Congaree River). Once in Cayce, Blossom Street becomes Knox Abbott Drive. Go to the second traffic light on Knox Abbott Drive at the intersection with State Street. Take a left on State Street and go one block and take the first right on Indigo Avenue. The BCHS Annex Field will be ahead on your right. "The Cage" is on the other side of the school off State Street.

River Bluff Baptist Church
Directions from I-77: Take the Cayce/West Columbia exit (Saxe Gotha Road). Take a right on Godley Street until it dead ends. Take a right onto New State Road and follow to the "Cayce Boat Landing" sign and take a right onto Old State Road. River Bluff Baptist Church will be on your right.

CESA-Columbia Tryout Schedule

CESA-Columbia will hold signup and tryouts for the 2006-2007 season at Crooked Creek on fields #2 and #3. The schedule is as follows:

Please arrive 30 minutes ahead of the first time you attend a tryout to register. The tryout fee is $10.

Pearse Tormey and Andrew Hyslop will hold information sessions after both tryout sessions on all tryout dates.

Congaree Rapid Soccer Association Tryouts for Saturday, May 20 at Cardinal Newman High School have been canceled due to the condition of the fields per the athletic department.

CRSA will resume tomorrow afternoon at Brookland-Cayce High School. For more information, please visit the CRSA website at Congaree Rapid.

CRSA would like to thank the more than 150 players that showed up for tryouts today at Brookland-Cayce High School and at River Bluff Baptist Church in Cayce!

This was for the U9-U18 age groups in both male and female divisions.
