Interesting article on this player who went from a top striker to a top GK at Ohio State and now with FC Dallas.

Wish I could have been in the Port City last night -- sounded like a super match! 3-2 win by Dallas in penalty kicks. Good showing by the Battery and it was nice to S.C. products Ben Hollingsworth score a goal and Troy Lesesne notch an assist. Dallas will face Houston in the Quarterfinals of the US Open Cup.

Yes, one of the top 5 Battery games I think I've ever seen. It had it all; offense, defense (yes, even with 6 goals), red card, drama. Although, wish we would have sat on the ball near the corner flag for the last 30 seconds or so. Very fun evening.

(now that i've had some sleep)
Lucky me.

This was my first experience with the Battery..and my second professional match. I was a bit skeptical at first I must say. Blackbaud is a great facility, but it's no RFK. But the game itself provided all the atmosphere that was needed ..and the fans in my section were an added bonus. (Which is more than I can say for the DC United/Colorado match I saw.)

Ben Hollingsworth was awesome. He had a sick half-bike in the first half that everyone but the ref thought was a goal.
Troy Lesesne had two quality crosses and the finish for the 3rd Battery goal was just stellar. Seemed like the Battery were obsessed with the post last night!

Anyway.. very entertaining match. Despite the flat tire I got on the way home.. it was well worth it. I think I'll definitely be making the trip down to Charleston again sometime soon.

(Next time I'm sitting near Micheal Ross again..and getting the Pub Pass)

I spoke with a "off duty official" on the side line who confirmed that Bens volley did cross the line tough break for us

In order to be wise in society you have to be crazy to the majority.
