What makes you say that CESA parents are obnoxious. For the most part we (CESA parents) are instructed not to coach from the sidelines, not to engage the other teams parents and players in any conversation, and to be only positive. I know that there are type A personality parents everywhere, but I can tell you that in each game that we have played this year it is the other teams parents that are much more vocal. Perhaps it is because they are usually on the short end of the scoreboard, but that is just a guess. I suspect that soccer05 has been on that short end several times and can't accept the result.

I don't think you can lump clubs together when it comes to fans...it's the individual teams. Every club has obnoxious parents. The problem is how close they are to the field in club ball vs high school.

Giggs, CESA isn't the only club that instructs their parents not to coach from the sidelines.

I agree that you can't lump clubs together. I was speaking only from my experience. I also understand that there are other parents that are not over the top. I also agree that the coach has more to do with the way the parents behave than the clubs themselves. We have played against some teams with well behaved parents and some teams with parents that were openly encouraging their children to "take out" our kids. I have no problem with vocal/positive parents, but I do have a problem with parents that do not know the game and encourage their kids to hurt others just because they are losing.

Ok for Coach, players, and parents I would have to say the RYSA U-13 we played in the RBC. Their team had 1 red card and 3 yellow cards. They were really obnoxious for being in such a young age division. We tied them, which was quite an accomplishment for a U-12 team.

Attitude of players reflects the leadership of the coach.

Giggs, I'm actually talking about a time I had to tell a CESA parent not to speak directly to my child on the field. Parents trying to intimidate players is the lowest of low. Your assumption we lost is WRONG. We won that game 2-0. We've had the pleasure of beating CESA, tie games and we've lost. Your guess is arrogant, obnoxious and makes my point. :-)

soccer05 hit it on the head with that one Giggs!! Why do we assume that the obnoxious parents come from the losing team?
When I read your reply at the top..it came across as arrogant..Every club has them and you will find one or two on each successful team..I have to say that our worst experience was two years ago when four or five CESA parents and the coach showed up to watch us play another club..They stood at one end of the field about ten yards back and heckled our players hoping the other team would win because they did not want to face us in the finals...It took a year later..but those parents and coach was humbled with defeat..
I have noticed some awful behavior from parents playing premier or region play also..Again I think CESA is an outstanding club but that was our worst experience with parents..
