Hey Bear,

You talk about petty...there's nothing more petty than bad-mouthing the refs.

Please remember that my post is only in response to Biz11's post for the sole purpose of trash-talking; claiming that Pinewood will "embarrass" PG at their home field in the championship game if the two play again. There is nothing Pinewood could do to embarrass anyone since they are favored to win. They only embarrass themselves by obnoxiously gloating after a win and complaining about the refs. Of course Pinewood deserved to celebrate after the win, but it didn't end there. Biz11 goes home to post a derogatory comment on this message board and titles it "Pinewood Prep."

Pinewood has a good team, no question, but I think we could all use some work in the character department.

So my statement of it being a questionable call is to be considered bad mouthing the refs? If so, I guess I'm guilty as charged, so be it.

Your post went way beyond the teenage testoserone trash talking, bringing into light items such as the Pinewood education and the "Jedburg's finest".

I've made an assumption here that may be incorrect, but up until this point, I've assumed that you were a parent of one the players, as am I. Maybe my assumption is incorrect, but that was the basis of my reply. For an adult to get into trash talking with a teenage player, makes no sense. They should be able to stay above that, but the Pinewood/PG rivalry runs pretty deep I guess. As for the character comment, I won't go into that publicly, but if you care to continue that dialogue, feel free to PM.

finkle, have you never made a type-o? How many people on PG are playing soccer in college? PP has 3 players playing in college( J.D. at Clemson, Ben Riedmayer at PC, and of course Ben Allen at N. Greenville). If any other team in SCISA has near that many playing in college, please let me know.

Bear-

Your assumption was incorrect. I'm not a parent.

My remarks may have been a little harsh, but they were in response to the inflammatory post made by Biz11. He dished it out and should expect some retaliation.

Biz11-

You got me. PG has 2 players (that I know of) with offers to play in college. Nowhere close to PP's staggering 3.

Finkle there is a big difference between offers and actually playing...out of the 8 seniors on pinewoods squad 7 had been "offered" but only three wanted to take it to the next level. The ones that did are two D-1 programs and a very good D-2 school. Find a school in SC with that many senior prospects.

i think it's great PP has players going to play college, but let's be real about this.PC is transitioning to D1 and while North Greenville is improving in no way are they a very good DII school. they are sub 500 every year. the very good DII scholls are your Landers,Upstates, and last year Limestone.

Finkle,

I understand. Poor assumption on my part, and had I known, I wouldn't have entered the discussion at all. Good luck with your AP exams, and playoffs. I'm out of this discussion.

I can't believe that 7 out of 8 were offered scholarships. They may have been looked at but I can guarantee they were not offered $$$$$ to play soccer. I know most of the players so get the stats right.
