Lexington graduate to compete for Miss Teen USA on national television (August 24, 2007 on NBC) (Not a URL)

Caitlin was a four year starter for the Lady Wildcats and helped lead Lexington to the Class 4A Upper State Championship this past spring.


Caitlin Upton, Miss South Carolina Teen USA, throws out the first pitch at the Greenville Drive baseball game on July 24. Caitlin's grandfather, Bill Upton, won 21 games for the Peaches in 1952 and later made it to the major leagues.

Looks like Caitlin made Fourth Runner-Up in the Miss Teen USA pageant..congrats to her!

I'd hate to think how I would react under the pressure of being on live national television. I cringe every time I see a local news reporter/anchor begin to "lose it"....and these folks are professionals.

Agree that the Today Show was a great comeback. While the original answer was a jaw-dropper, I'd probably do worse live on national tv. If I'm the Google Maps or MapQuest guy, I've got my best people working on a big contract for her to become a spokesperson. She's shown she's human, courageous, honest, and has a sense of humor. Good luck and best wishes to her.

I read the paper today and they made light of the situation in her favor. I hope she can laugh at herself, because that pressure and end result can be difficult to handle. Great job on the Today Show Caitlin!
