When do the new state rankings come out?

Most likely at the beginning of next week, as the preseason will be completed, and the regular season will have officially begun.

Did the tournaments count towards rankings? Because #1 and #2 lost in 3A

Rankings for Week #1 will be posted on Sunday, March 2.

The first week always includes the preseason tournament results, which count towards the rankings.

Tournaments count as such, because there are paid officials on hand, general admission/tournament passes collected, and also timekeepers, scoreboard/press box folks manning the booths. When that happens -- "it's for real". It's the same for baseball, basketball, etc. -- why should soccer be any different? SCSoccer.com has always had this policy since the inception of the Kickin' Around soccer newsletter that debuted in 1993.

The only matches that don't count towards rankings are "scrimmages" and "Jamborees".

Also, until players reach the collegiate status, SCSoccer.com refers to them as "Boys" and "Girls" -- i.e., Boys U18, Boys U17, Girls U16, Girls U15, etc.

What about the previously ranked teams that didn't get to play any games because of the weather? Are they gonna lose their spots?

Hardly seems fair...

To be honest it doesn't matter who is ranked where in the Pre-Season/1st couple weeks of the season, so let's not argue about something that will have now bearing in a month or two.

the new rankings will come out soon and chapin should be 1 or 2, you dont need to complain, but like platini said rankings dont matter until the end
