Antoine is a 16 year old kid. He doesn't need to be the topic of discussion in this or any other forum other than in the context of his play on the field. Drop it, please.

I was surprised to see NW use a different GK for the shootout. I assume it to be legal (since they did it), but the National Federation rules aren't available on line. I also notice that the state rules allow takers to be anyone on the roster, whether in the game at the end of OT or not.

Can anyone cite the rule that allows substitution of the keeper?

Can a NW supporter explain the decision to use a different keeper for the shootout?

Northwestern did the same thing last year vs. Dutch Fork in the Lake Murray Challenge. They put him in because he is guesses the side and has a quicker reflex.

And WROONEY, were you at the game? If not than I don't understand why you would say Antoine would make them win in regulation. He would help a lot but I feel Northwestern would have been fine in game planning for him.

I couldn't find a rule that specifically addresses the goalkeeper, but if anyone on the roster is eligable to take a kick then it's only logical that anyone on the roster can be the keeper.

I think there were a few people in TN who were hoping SV would lose seeing that this was basically their last challenge until maybe they meet again. I have to say though. It is odd, to me atleast, that they didn't just tie. In TN we do not go to OT for a regular season game. I still wish Farragut would have made it to the semis in the Palmetto Cup.

SV most likely lost another player for the season in last night's game. M. Harding suffered a broken collar bone. He's had a great season, and he will be missed.

Henry...u seem very defensive on this subject...its ok , Northwestern still has a pretty good program....i hope you are able to sleep at night now that your life(Northwestern High School Soccer) has taken such a blow...maybe this loss will bring you and your program back down to earth...no doubt Northwestern is good, but they arent want u make them out to be Henry...Many teams have won a state championship before but they dont "prance" around this message board acting like they are some Greek god...
