I have a few to contribute:
2002 or 2003 Chapin player scores a wonder strike from 35 out - ball was on an absolute line with hardly any arch to beat the BE keeper (who was highly rated at the time) backside netting.
2003 Lugoff-Elgin's Matt Harris (Pfeiffer) against defending 3A Champs Greenville dribbles to the end line and whips a scorcher from the most acute angle I've seen (at any level) - megs not only a defender, but the keeper as well to score just inside the far side post!
2004 BE Keeper dribbles out of the 18 to send a ball down field. Emerald's AC Cogburn leaps to contest the clearance - ball ricochets off his FACE twenty yards into the goal as the BE keeper scrambles to chase it down. Priceless.
2007 - Lugoff-Elgin's Allan Taylor (who had at least two more similar goals that year) launched a beast - no spin - from 25 out that struck the underside of the crossbar, bounced straight down, and then up into the top net. Classy.
So far this season - David Slaughter and Byron Quintoa both tallied bona fide thumpers when the two sides met earlier this month. Not the best goals ever, but a base level of quality that I don't recall earlier this decade.
If I sat here another fifteen minutes I could think of at least four more "best" goals. Ditto to Kevin's remarks concerning the quality of players.
