RE: The cost of offices is next to nothing compared to the debt load for having to build and maintain your own fields (e.g., MeSA) Lexington and for that matter SSC have a tremendous advantage in having taxpayer subsidized facilities.

SSC is not taxpayer subidized. SSC has nothing but the land grand form the 1980's. SSC alone has to cover all cost and that is part of the problem.

That land grant is a very, very powerful thing and in my mind differentiates SSC from most of the other low-country clubs.

I'm not exactly sure of what advantage you are talking about. We have to share our fields with Lex. rec and LCGSA.

At CESA (and to a lesser degree, CUFC) there is an actual loan for which debt service must be paid -- like the mortgage on your home. LCSC is fortunate to have a $6M+ complex to call its home -- even having to share it with the balkanized youth soccer structure within Lexington. This field rights point isn't a criticism -- it's a supreme advantage that LCSC has -- and I'd love to see them take advantage of it to build a club that could be competitive across the board with CESA and CUFC.

Many SSC coaches are look at all options including coaching other places. Many coaches have been asked to coach other places but all just want to do right by the kids.

Yeah...I heard talk this weekend from some lowcountry folks I know that at least one past partner of SSC is taking a hard run at coaches.

All I hear is rumor -- but the obvious question is -- where will those teams practice?

But the grant will be up in a few years and many people want the land YMCA, Bridge..... The fields can disappear. James Island owns it's land and Mt. P.

I know you know this -- but a heck of a lot of things can get accomplished in "a few years." Think back on where we were just a few years ago!
