I guess Enzo had an off year?

Well done to all the boys!

There has been so many postings on SCSOCCER about Enzo...how does he possibly not make the Region team when 5 others from Northwestern are selected. No offense intended to the other players selected but this sort of diminishes the integrity of the selection process in my mind.

I believe Coach Wren wanted to give credit to those players who had heck of a season, but who were overshadowed by Enzo. I also believe he picked these players based on performance, attitude, and their overall positive influence towards the team. This would be my guess.

But I definitely understand your point on how it diminishes the selection process. I personally agree with part of what you are saying but I am satisfied with the selections.

that is crazy that enzo is not on the list...i guess i can understand the coach doing that but if a kid deserve an award he should recieve it. How does a two time state player of the year not make his all region team?

I'm sure Coach Wren wants to spread the wealth and recognize the others, knowing that Enzo will make all-state.

Enzo will be on all state obviously and up for player of the year again. Coach wren does this every year, hes gives the awards to players he believes deserve some recognition.

The award is based on region play. During many of the games coach wren takes starters out after just 20 mins of play and some time the starters dont even play. This in turn gives the other players to rack up the stats.

Last year none of the seniors from NW received all region but 2 of them received all state. Its not that big of a deal. Enzo has received 2 all region honors, among all of his other awards, so I dont think he will mind at all.
