Once again Summerville gets the worst times.

I don't understand. How did Summerville get the worst times?

Luna,
There is almost enough time in between games for the Luna Chicks, to orbit earth, and be back on time for the afternoon game. Innocentbystand could argue, all that time might be to your advantage

9:45 and 5:15 Saturday

In this group, I would say Summerville got the toughest draw. They play at 9:45, turn around after 3 hours' rest and play a fresh CUFC team that will be playing their first match of the day.

I'm not sure if SCYSA looks at these types of things. In the U12 boys, the Lakeland Toros play in the top division of the state-wide Sandlapper league, but are allowed to enter as a Recreation team.

I may be off base on this but, aren't academy teams still considered rec by SCYSA?

I believe that you must be registered with SCYSA as Academy to play in the Academy level. Therefore if they are registered as Rec they can play recreation

I think Soccer Pop is correct. All teams U12 and under are really considered recreation even if they play Academy. I think the Classic designation does not start until U13.

When there is a division for Rec and one for Academy, the teams in Academy should play there, especially if they are playing in the top division. Seems as if any victories there will be somewhat hollow.

Great weather for the tournament. It was exciting getting Daniel Island Soccer Academy Gold and Red to the U12 Finals. The semi-final match between was DISA-Gold and Coast FA a great match to watch.

The weather was perfect and the fields were in awesome shape. The only down side was the U-12G had to play on what appeared to be U-10 fields. Soccer is a beautiful game until you take the field away and make the players play on top of each other. The folks that run Ballentine Park should be ashamed of themselves for not preparing regulation fields for the girls to play on.

Didn't make a difference anyway about the Lakelands team in U-12 boys. Justice was done as the "true" rec team from CUFC beat them in the championship game. That was the CUFC team's first tournament ever and first time playing >1 match in a day (and they played 4 in 2 days for the title).

Take that Academy ... bring 'em on!
