I have never seen a soccer ball bounce higher on the third bounce than it did on the first until last night. Terrible field!!!!!!

I teach physical science and I am pretty sure Newton said that couldn't happen

The only reason the soccer field was built at Byrnes was to keep the soccer players off their hallowed football grounds AND to give the football players a practice field for the rest of the year. Even during our training season (football on their offseason) while I was at Byrnes we could not use the weight room most of the time because the football team took precedent even thought their season had just ended.

They built the soccer field a couple years after I graduated and occasionally my brother told me they couldnt even use it due to the football team. Amazing.

I hate to see that the Boys team is apparently in the position they are, we worked very hard while I was there to improve our level of skill and respect around the region and state...apparently that work has reverted back to prehistoric kickball.

On Monday, April 21, Dreher beat Camden 5 - 0.

On Tuesday, April 22, Dreher beat Cardinal Newman 3 - 1.

Dreher lost twice last week - Blythewood and Sumter - both bad losses (Is there such a thing as a 'good' loss?). They've snapped out of the slump nicely I think, just in time to confront AC Flora for the region championship.

Of course, if they had beaten Blythewood, they would already be champs.

My apologies if these scores have been posted, but I didn't see them during a quick scan.

--Dreher Dad: Both "bad losses"? I am not sure if I agree with this statement. How can you lose to a team 3-0 and it be a bad loss. I agree that teams do have "slumps" occasionally, however, I attended that game and from what I saw Blythewood dominated it for the most part.

Losing to a team that you hope to beat can't be a "good loss" can it?

That is true, however, I don't think that I would blame it completely on the "slump". Many teams this year have stepped up their game and shown their true potential against difficult teams, "slump" or not. Dreher has always had a lot of potential and a great team. Sumter is moving up and so is Blythewood. I think I just need to make a stand for the teams who don't get enough recognition for their hard work.

...and that's a good point and they deserve it. Much agreed.

I agree too. We need to hear more from the mid and lower state. I know there is good soccer going on and it needs to be publicized.
