I don't think S-burg gets scored on in round 1.

It's Westside, not Westside/Easley ( )

I'll go with Dorman over Ft. Mill in pks

If SA has to go to Fort Mill, you boys better be waiting on me at the gate to introduce yourselves!

I think that will depend on several things, but an argument can be made for alot of teams. I think injuries and those coming back will be a big factor. Does anyone know of anyone who is injured who will be back for the tourny? Or anyone that is out for the season? Those 2 things will greatly effect what happens.

Here is the bracket with seedings based on current standings or my opinion if there are ties...and my first round predictions.

UPPER STATE
Region 4 # 1 Lexington - Westside wins in the greatest upset in the history of girl's soccer. The Ram faithful throw Roseberry a parade down the 28 bypass!

Region 1 # 4 H Westside

Region 2 # 2 Byrnes - Byrnes

Region 3 # 3 H Northwestern

Region 1 # 1 Hanna - Gonna be tough. I hear nothing outruns a Deer!

Region 4 # 4 N. Augusta

Region 3 # 2 Clover - Sparkle City

Region 2 # 3 H Spartanburg

Region 2 # 1 Dorman - Dorman, uh-oh find your brooms...

Region 3 # 4 H Nation Ford

Region 4 # 2 South Aiken - South Aiken in a dogfight with several casualties

Region 1 # 3 Greenwood

Region 3 # 1 Ft. Mill - Region 3 feels the pain of playing R2 - Mauldin wins the sweep

Region 2 # 4 Mauldin

Region 1 # 2 Wren - Gonna go homer on this one and pick Wren with Gmrek scoring the winner late

Region 4 # 3 Irmo

LOWER STATE
Region 8 # 1 Summerville- Summerville

Region 5 # 4 H Richland NE

Region 6 # 2 Sumter - I honestly don't know enough to pick, so I will go with Stratford

Region 7 # 3 H Stratford

Region 5 # 1 Dutch Fork - DF

Region 8 # 4 Beaufort

Region 7 # 2 James Island - JI

Region 6 # 3 S. Florence

Region 6 # 1 West Florence - West Florence

Region 7 # 4 H Berkely

Region 8 # 2 West Ashley - West Ashley, but this could be real close.

Region 5 # 3 Ridge View

Region 7 # 1 Wando - Wando

Region 6 # 4 Hartsville

Region 5 # 2 Spring Valley - SV, who inherits the worst second round match for a 2 seed in the state!

Region 8 # 3 Ft. Dorchester

CJ and Dale Jr.,

Reverse Karma could get you two to an upperstate showdown that's the stuff dreams are made of!!! You ARE on opposite sides of the bracket. I have a feeling it'd take more than any force of Karma to reverse the force of nature that is Lexington vs. the 4th seed from Region I.

I just hear sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many good things about Mauldin, that, and I remember the beatings...

thank you, you are correct. I originally did this before they played SV. Now everything I said about DF applies to our good friend Steve Lea. Nobody that good deserves to play Wando in the second round.

CJ: You also may want to check Summerville. I think they have a 2 game lead over W Ashley.

I think Dorman going undefeated in Region 2 4A is the most impressive achievement of the 2008 high school girls soccer season.

I also agree, but it could also be their downfall. If they meet a Region 2 foe in the Play-offs, beating anyone of them for a third time, will be a huge undertaking.

I don't predict games. I try my darndest to be as unbiased as possible. However, in my opinion:

Samuel L. Jackson is not only the finest actor of our, or any other, generation -- he is undoubtably the finest judge of soccer who has ever or will ever live.

Or...in his own words...

Normally, both your [bleep] would be dead as [bleep] fried chicken, but you happen to pull this [bleep] while I'm in a transitional period so I don't wanna kill you, I wanna help you. But I can't give you this case, it don't belong to me. Besides, I've already been through too much [bleep] this morning over this case to hand it over to your dumb [bleep].

[Jules shoots the man on the couch] I'm sorry, did I break your concentration? I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue, you were saying something about best intentions. What's the matter? Oh, you were finished. Well then, allow me to retort.

If my answers frighten you, Vincent, then you should cease asking scary questions.

"See, you're assuming I won't shoot your sorry [bleep], and everyone knows when you make an assumption, you make an [bleep] outta you, and umption."

I wouldn't be surprised to see the last 4 teams standing:
Dorman
Mauldin
Spartanburg
Byrnes

and yes I do realize they are all in the same region, but if the #4 team in your region beat the AL 6A State Champions, you got a GOOD REGION!!

Samuel L. Jackson said it best...

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

I have watched Lexington play over the last four years. They should beat Easley on Monday, but then in my opinion have NO change against Mauldin on Wednesday. The team lacks the intensity of last year, from what I can gather from the stands and with the coaching staff being this there last year, I'm not so sure the incentive is there. They have not been tested on defense during there region schedule and I believe Mauldin has a very explosive offense. Also K.Campbell is suffering (from what I hear with shinsplints, which has limited her effectiveness. Also Allie Johns is not totally healthy
This game even though at Lexington could be 4-1 Mauldin.
As the say "all good things must come to an end" Fryland may be respected as a coach, but not to many coaches in the state would consider him a friend....As Bobby Knight says" I really don't give a @*^!!#

I'll only believe the door has closed on Lexington after I see them on the wrong end of the scoreboard. I have no idea how banged up they are.

What I do know, is when I watched them beat Charlotte Catholic in March, I was in awe. It was the best performance that I've seen by a SC high school girls team this season.

Lex has been there, they have the heart of a champion. Until Mauldin, or anyone else, snuffs the last breath out of the Lady Wildcats, I will never count them out.

Wow, 7-1 in the first round. Could have easily been 8-0 since Byrnes took Fort Mill to OT.

So now we have the 2nd Round. This gets a little harder to pick because we have 2 games that I think are complete toss ups.

The easy ones first:

Dorman 4
South Aiken 0

Fort Mill 3
N. Augusta 0

Now the tough ones:

Mauldin 1
Lexington 2

TL Hanna 2
Spartanburg 1

I really want to pick Mauldin against Lexington but I'm going to go with Lexington at home for a mid-week game. Plus they probably rested their better players Monday against Easley.

So looking into the future I now see the Upper State Championship Game:

Lexington 2
Dorman 1

Vision subject to change based on the outcome of 2nd round games.

Hanna lost 5- to #1 seed Dorman and 1-0 to #4 seed Byrnes. I think the 3rd time is the charm against #3 Sparkle City. CJ once prowled that great town and I think he'll get 'em going!

I also think the SA vs Dorman game will be more like 295 to 1 (own goal) in favor of Dorman.

Lexington and Mauldin basically have the same records against teams they have both played - Eastside, Byrnes, the exception being Dutch Fork. Mauldin lost 1-2,
Lexington beat 4-1. But you could argue that the DF lose was the last game of an already disappointing tournament for Mauldin in which they had nothing to play for.
I know it's going to be a good game. I don't see Lexington giving up more than one goal. Thay have only giving up two goals in one game and that was to Wando. Lexington has also beat Mauldin in the second round the last two years in a row. History prevails and lexington wins 2-1.

Yes history does show that Lexington will win and it will not be a high scoring game they have a very good goalkeeper and very strong defense and do not see Them giving up more than one goal

You could be describing Mauldin with that statement. I agree it's probably a one goal game. I'll take Mauldin 1-0.

Mauldin does have a solid offense to go along with that stingy defense. CC 4-0 get realistic, Mauldin has not given up more than two all season. It should be a great game!
