PS Here's my 2 cents about PK's. They are fine during the game, but if a game ends in a tie (like EPL) then let it end in a tie. When a playoff game goes to PK's after 30 minutes, it's a terrible way to end the game... so add more playing overtime.

I mean a former professional keeper who now coaches keepers as her chosen profession (major D1 university).

And yes, they both have pressures and if they can't handle it, they should not be involved in PK's.

I can't say I quite agree with that. (For the record, I am a starting varsity goalkeeper.) Our team went into OT Penalty Kicks four times this year; I sure would have hated to end all four of those in ties.

You suggest adding more overtime play...in some instances, that might work. However, I'm not sure it's a better idea than the setup we already have to settle ties. Playing soccer is a very physically demanding sport; from my own experiences, I've seen games get extremely physical in the final minutes of a close match...not to mention the players have already gone through 80 minutes of regulation time when overtime rolls around. I like the system they have with both regular season and playoff matches.

I can't think of many (if any) Professional soccer leagues, College leagues and Club soccer leagues that don't end a regular game in a tie. Two teams battle it out for regulation and end all locked up, then both should get credit. Win =3, Tie =1, Lose =0. I know in America (High School) we change rules to fit our culture (winner take all), but what if we got this wrong?

Make a save + keep the ball= two things, make a save= one thing. Get on a ceral box by making the PK shooter keep her shirt on = priceless.

This gets my vote for post of the YEAR!!!!
