The Emerald vs. Walhalla game was something you would see out of a movie. One of the most exciting soccer games I have ever seen. Neither team would give up! Emerald's sophomore Hunter Riddle scored the first goal with an assist from senior Walter Nunez. Then with just a little over 2:00 minutes left Walhalla's Corey Champion scored to tie the game and take it into overtime. Walhalla's Gerardo Vivaldo scored in the first 10 minute overtime period. The game went into the second 10 minute overtime period and as time was running out Emerald senior Joseph Taylor crossed the ball to sophomore Noe Duarte who scored to send the game into a 5 minute golden goal overtime period. Emerald defender and sophomore Jeremy Tommie took the ball down the field and put a rocket in the back of the net for the win. The Emerald bench and coaches ran onto the field and then the fans stormed the field to celebrate. Great play by two very mentally tough teams. Emerald 3 - Walhalla 2
