Why are there no USL Super Y teams in South Carolina?

Possibly sponsorship?
The Charleston Battery sponsored both male and female teams for a couple of years and there were teams in the G'ville area. Kinda expensive with lots of travel over the summer.

A lot of parnets do not want to support this program during the summer. Two years ago, my daughter team tried to form a team but there was not enough support in the low country.

We played Super Y several years ago in the Upstate during the summer. It fizzled out due to a lack of participants...the teams we played pounded us - that could have had something to do with the participation level, too!

I wonder how softball and baseball are able to 'convince' their kids to play travel AAU Summer ball? I know it's a more traditional time of year for those kids to play those sports, but still, these travel teams play in the fall too. It's a huge thing in NE Cola for sure. Their out there all the time playing baseball/softball.
