I still think the Poverty Index has a bigger factor than enrollment Numbers. Is there an updated poverty index for SC high schools? Listed below is last years PI provided by Kevin Heise.
school, enrollment numbers, enrollment rank, PI, PI rank 1. Wando - 2,991 (3), 24.00 (4) 2. Mauldin - 2,293 (8), 25.73 (5) 3. Dorman - 3,164 (2), 47.23 (25) 4. Summerville - 3,439 (1), 39.50 (17) 5. Lexington - 2,423 (7), 19.23 (2) 6. Fort Mill - 1,534 (41), 17.39 (1) 7. TL Hanna - 1,792 (23), 39.59 (18) 8. James Island - 1,489 (43), 37.10 (13) 9. Dutch Fork - 2,074 (12), 22.95 (3) 10. Agreed. I looked at the bottom half of the PI and it takes a while to find a girls soccer program.

We have recieved our PACT demographic data for our middle school and does it surprise anybody that the #1 and #2 lowest poverty index districts in the state are also #1 and #2 in achievement?
If you think about it, that is even more support for what we have been talking about with soccer. Our sport continues to be the sport of the rich in the US despite its role in the rest of the world.
I am pretty proud that our district finished in the top five in most categories despite our poverty index and of course our BC friends continue to over-achieve.

What is your PI rank CJ? 18?
What is BC's?
That is a great district in terms of academics and I know the people over there work very hard.

My hope is to put Barnwell near the top of 2A girls despite having a 108 poverty rank....
I would agree with CJ about soccer being the rich sport...I can see that going from Summerville back to Barnwell....soccer suffers because of Economics and opportunity
