Henning Garners Southern Conference Player Of The Month Honors

Greenville, S.C. -- Furman’s Coleton Henning has been named Southern Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Month after tallying four goals and two assists during September, it was announced on Thursday by the league office.

The freshman midfielder has helped trigger a four-game winning streak with all four goals and both assists coming in the Paladins’ last four matches. Henning netted a goal and added an assist in a 5-0 victory over USC Upstate before helping Furman score a 2-1 win over 19th-ranked South Carolina.

Last weekend, the Shawnee, Kan., native totaled a goal and an assists in a 2-1 win at Lipscomb on Friday. On Sunday, he scored twice to give Furman the Atlantic-Sun/SoCon Challenge title with a 3-1 victory over Belmont.

Henning and the Paladins host rival UNC Greensboro in the SoCon opener on Saturday at Stone Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
